The SMOL PHUNKs Story
The SMOL PHUNKs started as a generative anaglyphic 3D collection of 256 artworks minted fully on-chain on the ethereum blockchain in december 2022 and is now moving on-chain across all crypto networks.
The collection is inspired by the CryptoPhunks movement. CryptoPhunks are the same as CryptoPunks just flipped the other way.
The Phunks movement symbolize anti-establishment, counter-culture and are known for their rebel Spirit – constantly pushing the boundaries. Taking the whole NFT ecosystem to move in the right direction of decentralization, public good, ownership and censorship resistance. I decided to go CC0 with the SMOL PHUNKS collection, because is a core part of the blockchain culture.
What is CC0?

CC0 enables artists and other creators and owners of copyright protected content to waive those interests in their works and thereby place them as completely as possible in the public domain, so that others may freely build upon, enhance and reuse the works for any purposes without restriction under copyright or database law.
This creates an endless loop of creative innovations, remixes, derivates and integrations in various projects.

The SMOL PHUNK Anatomy
A SMOL PHUNK is left viewing mini Punk created on a 16×16 pixel grid. They consist of 5 different parts which are layered one above another.
SMOL PHUNK OG COLLECTION (ethereum)
The genesis collection is created in a 3D anaglyphic style and was minted on ethereum. There are always 256 original SMOL PHUNKs made out of 5 layers.
MASH PHUNKS
Thanks to CC0 it is possible to integrate SMOL PHUNKs into different WEB3 projects and natively enhance its ecosystem.
The first derivate project is MASH PHUNKs by using CCOMASH. This web app match on-chain layers from favorite CC0 projects and lets make you remixes.
